The LORD takes care of his own

I wasn’t expecting it until it happened and when it did, I was in a bit of shock. A couple months back  a co-worker had asked if I would return a key back to the boss’ office, thinking nothing of it, the next time I had gone on my security round I went on  ahead and dropped off the key.

As I placed the key on the desk, I happened to notice that there was a work schedule on the desk. the company was going through a transition and I had heard in the past couple of weeks what I believe was from the Holy Spirit “You are staying” so, when I looked down at the schedule i was kind of in a shock, when I noticed that my name was not on this list, I couldn’t believe it. I finished my patrol but, went back to the office to confirm what I had just read and sure enough I was not on this list, here I was the  most senior of all the staff working and by the looks of it, might be going elsewhere. I pondered it in my brain, that maybe the LORD had something better for me somewhere else, and then those words kept coming back “you are staying here”then there was that thought also, that the LORD had placed me there several years ago, why would he move me, I prayed about it and asked my church to pray for me also, it was going to be a couple of months before I would finally find out the true answer. that’s a long wait if you think about it. The final week of the month had arrived, I wondered what would happen,

Each day i would wonder if today was the day that I would receive that call, “Don’t bother coming into work today, or we want you to report to this address, that call never came. As I returned to work the middle of the week, I was told, that one of my co-workers had been asked if he would like to take a job down the street, he had worked there before and it was more money for him so, he had accepted the job. I am not saying it was not easy waiting on the LORD, I believe the LORD was trying to teach me how to be patient. as it says in the book of proverbs 3:5-6,

5Trust in the lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
6Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.
